The race of superlatives

The Arkéa Ultim Challenge Brest is the most extreme challenge ever undertaken in the world: an offshore race in Ultim, solo, non-stop, and unassisted!

Six "Giants of the Seas" set sail from Brest, each with a skipper attempting to complete a west-to-east circumnavigation via the three capes (Good Hope, Leeuwin, and Horn). This human and technological challenge is undertaken by the sailors of the Ultim 32/23 Class, supported by their shipowners and partners.

As a major player in sports sponsorship, already involved for several years in offshore racing, Arkéa has committed, on behalf of all the subsidiaries of the Crédit Mutuel Arkéa banking and insurance group, as the title partner for the next two editions of this first solo Ultim round-the-world race organized by OC Sport Pen Duick.

"The ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest 2023 promises to be the race of superlatives."

ARKÉA, THE CONTINUATION OF A HISTORICAL COMMITMENT TO OFFSHORE RACING

Arkéa is committed to supporting local stakeholders and the real economy to support events at the heart of its territories. It was therefore important to accompany, through this partnership, the launch of a new major sporting event that promises to bring Brest and the entire region to the forefront.

Arkéa aims to be a creator of connections. It is only natural that our group, deeply rooted in the region, is committed alongside the Brest metropolitan area, the Brittany Region, and the Finistère Department, which are major partners and supporters.

The project conveys values and commitments in resonance with ours: performance, innovation, audacity, strength, and the influence of the regions. It is also an event that firmly aligns with a sustainable approach for positive ecology in the face of the transitions of tomorrow.

>>>>> This partnership on the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE – Brest 2023 follows the sponsorship of the Imoca Paprec-Arkéa, which will set sail for the Vendée Globe in 2024, and aligns with the Filière Excellence Offshore Racing, established by the Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne federation on the "Figaro" calendar.

Arkéa supports, both on land and at sea, all those who share the same passion for sailing and the sea. In October 2021, we created a maritime sector to support maritime actors in their daily activities and transitions.

THE SEA,
IS ALSO THE TERRITORY.

For a territorial group like ours, which has strong roots along the coast, in Brittany and New Aquitaine, investment in sailing seems obvious. Our sports sponsorship policy, supported by our federations and subsidiaries, is an integral part of our corporate strategy. We have thus structured our maritime sector in order to better support, over the long term, all players in the maritime economy. Crédit Mutuel Arkéa intends to position itself as a facilitator of local and regional ecosystems to promote the responsible blue economy.
