Arkéa Ultim Challenge - Brest in the legend

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa is the title sponsor of the first edition of the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE - Brest, a sailing race that has never been seen before, which today brought together six skippers aboard their Ultims, the largest multihulls currently in existence. As well as the extraordinary sporting challenge represented by this round-the-world voyage around the three capes, the race village on the Quai Malbert in Brest's commercial port was also an opportunity to showcase the entire economic, maritime and human ecosystem of the Brest area and, more broadly, the Brittany region.
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa has long had strong links with the world of the sea and sailing, notably through the CMB Région Bretagne centre of excellence, supported by the Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne federation, and more recently with the victory of skipper Yoann Richomme aboard the IMOCA Paprec Arkéa in the first edition of the "Retour à la base", a qualifying race for the Vendée Globe 2024.
By becoming a title partner of the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE - Brest , the cooperative banking group is initiating a new stage in its commitment to sailing, by supporting an unprecedented sporting event: a solo Ultim race around the world via the three capes.
Beyond the challenge that this race organised by OC Sport Pen Duick represents for the
six skippers who set off from the start line on Sunday 7 January, sponsorship of the ARKEA ULTIM CHALLENGE - Brest enables Crédit Mutuel Arkéa to support a flagship event organised in Brest, at the heart of one of the group's historic birthplaces, in line with its commitment to regional development. Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's head office is in Le Relecq-Kerhuon, near Brest, and the Brest area is home to 3,500 of the group's 11,200 employees.
The race village and the group's presence, via an Arkéa pavilion which welcomed up to 6,000 visitors a day, enabled the banking group's employees and customers to meet up and exchange ideas in a convivial setting, to live this extraordinary experience of ocean racing without leaving land.
