Beaumont Block: Inauguration of Two Acquisitions by Arkéa Foncière
14/06/2024
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa participated in the inauguration of the Beaumont block on Thursday, June 13. This block consists of three buildings, within which the group acquired properties through its real estate subsidiary. Located in Rennes and developed by Legendre Immobilier, this ensemble combines multiple uses and innovations, extending the city center to the foot of the train station with housing, offices, and shops. The need for housing in France continues to concern public opinion. In Rennes, this concern is at the heart of urban issues.
After two years of construction, the new Beaumont complex, which received the Silver Pyramid of Brittany in 2021 and is strategically positioned at the foot of the Rennes train station, officially opened its doors on June 13, 2024.
Within this ensemble, Arkéa Foncière acquired the Whoo residence, which promotes social diversity. Certified by the Effinergie+ label, it is indeed integrated into a building that houses social housing, student housing, and high-end apartments, thus offering a living environment in line with our commitment as a cooperative and mutual bank.
This acquisition by Arkéa Foncière also includes an office building, certified HQE Excellent, fully leased, within which a coworking space operated by Flexo will soon open.
In September 2023, we launched our real estate division, bringing together around twenty entities from the group. Every day, we work to address the economic, social, and environmental challenges of this sector by supporting all actors in the real estate value chain.
"The need for affordable housing, especially in dynamic major cities like Rennes, is a reality that particularly affects students and young professionals. Additionally, the availability of premises for economic activity development is a major issue for our territories. Crédit Mutuel Arkéa is committed to taking concrete action in favor of responsible and protective real estate. These acquisitions through Arkéa Foncière of the Whoo residence and these coworking spaces are further proof of our ambition. Combining thermal and energy performance, as well as mixed use and social diversity, these two acquisitions are in complete harmony with our values as a cooperative and mutual bank."
