Brest - 25/06/2024
Team Arkéa - B&B Hôtels has announced its selection for the 111th Tour de France, which starts in Florence (Italy) on Saturday 25 June and finishes in Nice on 21 July.
Always on the hunt for a first Grand Tour victory, this year the Arkéa B&B Hôtels team will be counting on Kévin Vauquelin, Arnaud Démare, Daniel McLay, Amaury Capiot, Luca Mozzato, Cristian Rodriguez, Clément Champoussin and Raul Garcia Pierna to land the Grail.
The sprint card, led by Arnaud Démare who will be aiming for his 96th professional victory, will be one of the team's major assets in the Tour. Kévin Vauquelin and Raúl García Pierna will be discovering the Grande Boucle and honing their skills in the process, with precise objectives targeted at the stages that suit their characteristics.
Playing our chances to the full
Emmanuel Hubert, General Manager of the team: "The aim will be to play for something every day in this Tour, and for our riders to be on the offensive with the aim of winning a stage. We'll have to move forward as a team, so that we can make the most of our common interest to achieve the performances we're aiming for. We have a squad built around this ambition. Making the Excalibur jersey of the Arkéa B&B Hôtels team shine is what motivates us, both on the stages for daredevils, by getting into the breakaways, and on the mass finishes, by playing our chances to the full.
Didier Rous, Sports Manager: "Our aim will be to win a stage in this edition of the Tour de France. There will be plenty of opportunities for the sprinters, and Arnaud Démare will be our number 1 trump card in the mass finishes. A sprinter remains a sprinter and he'll become one again at the first opportunity he's given. We have total confidence in him. Arnaud will be able to rely on Amaury Capiot, Luca Mozzato and Dan McLay, who will be his wingman. Everyone will have a defined role and will have to play it to ensure the success of the team as a whole.
The 2024 edition promises to be particularly tough: a course of 3,498 km, 7 mountain stages with, as a bonus this year, white roads, more than 53,230 m of total ascent...
