25/11/2024
Brest, November 25, 2024 - Crédit Mutuel Arkéa announces the renewal of its partnership with the National Guard, affirming its commitment to supporting its reservist employees in carrying out their essential missions for the defense of the Nation. The signing was made official today in the presence of Julien Carmona, president of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa and General Poisbeau, secretary general of the National Guard
A meaningful agreement that is faithful to the values of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa
This partnership reflects Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's desire to support and promote the civic commitment of its employees, in line with its Raison d'être and its mutualist values. As a mission-driven company, the territorial cooperative banking group is particularly attentive to initiatives that contribute to the issues of sovereignty and national security, while consolidating relations between civil society and defense institutions.
This commitment is directly in line with two of the five pillars of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa’s Raison d’être:
- Develop territorial cooperation and commit to local vitality, taking into account the strategic role of national defense activities in its territories, which represent thousands of jobs and synergy opportunities.
- Promote the commitment of its collective in the service of the common interest, by offering its employees the freedom to act as citizens and by supporting activities essential to security and defense, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity, where the needs are growing.
Created in 2016 in response to the attacks, the National Guard brings together nearly 83,000 operational reservists from the armed forces and internal security. Nearly 7,000 women and men are involved on a daily basis across the national territory. The main challenge of the National Guard is to meet the challenge of doubling the reserve, set by the President of the French Republic within the framework of the 2024-2030 military programming law, to do so it must:
- Create a dynamic that exceeds the reserves of each component;
- Facilitate the operational engagement process with the Defense and Security Forces;
- Promote commitment by promoting national cohesion and the development of a spirit of resilience.
The territories of the Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne and Crédit Mutuel du Sud-Ouest federations are home to a significant number of major schools and military establishments, territories which are therefore an integral part of the national defense ecosystem.
By renewing this partnership, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa reaffirms its ambition to combine social responsibility and concrete contribution to major national issues, while facilitating the commitment of its employees to the service of the Nation.
