Le Crédit Mutuel Arkéa réduit de 20 % sa propre consommation énergétique
12/06/2025
The cooperative and mutual banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa formalized its "energy sobriety plan" in 2022 to manage a reduction and greening of its own energy consumption in a cross-functional manner. This plan allowed the Group to achieve its goal of a 20% reduction in energy consumption by 2024 compared to 2019. This dynamic will continue as Crédit Mutuel Arkéa pursues its strategic plan "Doing 2030," with a consumption reduction target set at 30% by 2030 (compared to 2019).
Real Estate and Digital: Avoiding Waste and Improving Efficiency
As a signatory of the EcoWatt charter and the charter for sobriety among tertiary actors, one of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's priorities for reducing energy consumption has been to evaluate its entire real estate portfolio to identify inefficient, excessive, or unnecessary uses of electricity or gas.
In line with government requests and with a view to setting an example for its stakeholders and clients, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa has implemented several initiatives to evolve its practices, particularly in building management, temperature control in offices, and by consolidating employees in part of the buildings on winter Fridays to optimize heated areas. Several office buildings of the Group have also undergone extensive energy renovation work.
Furthermore, in the digital sector, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa has dismantled over 600 servers to optimize the consumption of its data centers. Office equipment is shared as much as possible; this approach is facilitated, for instance, by the decrease in the number of paper prints, which allows for a reduction in the number of printers and copiers.
Ensuring Local and Green Energy Production
The use of locally produced renewable energy is a key lever for Crédit Mutuel Arkéa as part of its "energy sobriety plan." Numerous projects will contribute to this goal: the installation of a solar tracker at the Crédit Mutuel de Bretagne's Côtes d'Armor Departmental Directorate in 2024, as well as the construction of photovoltaic canopies at several of the Group's sites.
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa aims to produce 10% of its energy consumption by 2030, while ensuring the signing of new contracts to procure green energy.
