We are a mutual and cooperative banking group. Our members are the foundation of our organisation. As holders of shares, they are both customers and co-owners of their bank.
The principle of governance in a cooperative company
Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's directors are elected at the General Meeting from among the directors of the local mutuals of the member federations (who are themselves elected by the members of their local mutual). These first- and second-level elections are all based on the cooperative model's governance principle of "one person, one vote".
This system ensures genuine representation of customers, who are also members of the local mutuals, and guarantees that the Boards are managed independently of the company's management. Our organisation enables all members to participate, directly or indirectly, in collective decision-making.
