Crédit Mutuel Arkéa and the SNSM (French National Maritime Safety Agency) announce the signing of a national partnership agreement to support the commitment of the Group's employees as volunteer rescuers. Employees will receive continued pay for up to 12 days per year when they are deployed for rescue operations or training. The agreement was signed yesterday evening at the National Maritime Museum in Paris, in the presence of Admiral Emmanuel de Oliveira, President of the SNSM, and Julien Carmona, President of Crédit Mutuel Arkéa.

True to its cooperative and mutualist DNA, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa is including this commitment to the SNSM as part of a broader approach to supporting civil security and social responsibility missions. With strong roots along the Atlantic coast, the Group is thus reaffirming its commitment to the regions and the values of solidarity that characterize it. Specifically, employee volunteers now benefit from continued pay for up to 12 days per year when they are deployed for rescue operations or training as part of their SNSM missions. This recognition of the time spent on rescue missions is then reflected in the Group's non-financial performance.

With 11,000 volunteers spread across 206 rescue stations and 32 training and intervention centers, the SNSM plays an essential role at sea and on the coast, ensuring in 2023, nearly 30,000 people taken care of, including more than 12,000 rescued and nearly 15,000 treated at sea and on the beaches. To pursue its mission, the association must be able to count on available lifeguards, including during the week and during the day, a key issue in many stations where the volunteers are mainly active.
