Crédit Mutuel Arkéa modernizes its campus and accelerates its energy transition
06/11/2025
As part of its Faire 2030 strategic plan, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa is continuing to transform its Brest campus to support changing work practices and strengthen its energy independence. Two major achievements today illustrate this dynamic: the inauguration of the new premises of the Technology Operations Department (DEXT) in the historic Mirabeau building, headquarters of the cooperative banking group, and the commissioning of the first photovoltaic shade structures.
Modernized premises for DEXT, the cornerstone of the Group's information system
After eleven months of work, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's Technology Operations Department (DEXT) has moved into its new workspaces in the heart of the Mirabeau building, the Group's historic building, which was built in 1976 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026. These 5,000 m² of fully refurbished space illustrate the profound transformation of the Brest campus and the Group's desire to offer its teams modern, collaborative and inspiring working environments.
Formerly dedicated to mail, desktop publishing, and reprographics, these floors have been completely redesigned to accommodate 400 employees in bright, modular, and connected offices that promote cooperation, agility, and innovation.
Named “3R” – Return, Reinvent, Regroup – the project fully embodies the spirit of the Faire 2030 strategic plan and the strength of the collective. 220 people were mobilized – internal teams, business departments, technical partners, and local companies – in an exemplary co-construction process.
As the cornerstone of the Group's information system, the Technology Operations Department has a working environment that matches its mission: to support Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's digital ambitions as part of the “Faire 2030” strategic plan, while demonstrating its ability to innovate, cooperate, and sustainably transform its real estate assets.
A concrete energy transition
At the same time, Crédit Mutuel Arkéa is installing photovoltaic shade structures in the parking lots of three buildings on its Brest campus, which is home to nearly 3,000 employees, in partnership with Entech, a Breton company specializing in the storage and smart management of renewable energy.
The first installation, commissioned in August at the La Pérouse site, already covers 25% of the building's energy needs, equivalent to the annual consumption of 90 households. By the end of 2025, similar power plants will come into service on the Mirabeau and Xanadu buildings, enabling Crédit Mutuel Arkéa's Brest campus to produce 20% of its electricity needs.
These projects are part of the Group's energy efficiency plan, which aims to reduce consumption by 30% by 2030 compared to 2019 and to produce 10% of its needs using local renewable energies. They also meet the requirements of the APER law, which mandates the installation of photovoltaic shade structures in parking lots larger than 10,000 m² by 2026.

“The Mirabeau building, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026, was designed from the outset to be open and modular, allowing us today to reinvent our workspaces to enhance collective performance. Locating the Technology Operations Department at the heart of this historic building has significant strategic value. At the same time, with the deployment of photovoltaic shade structures, we are affirming our ambition for energy sovereignty. These two projects illustrate our long-term vision: supporting changes in usage while contributing to environmental transition, for the benefit of our employees and our region."
